Sharpness, distortion, vignetting, Lateral Chromatic Aberration, noise, and dynamic range are the principal factors that can be measured at this stage. Most of these measurements can be clearly classified as good/bad.
There are four primary image quality factors. They are: contrast, IR exposure or density, distortion, and recorded detail .
Image quality is not a single factor but is a composite of at least five factors: contrast, blur, noise, artifacts, and distortion , as shown above. The relationships between image quality factors and imaging system variables are discussed in detail in later chapters.

First, that certain UV filters are absorbed through the skin resulting in systemic exposure with unknown consequences. Second, that certain UV filters show the potential to be adversely endocrine disruptors .
There doesn't seem to be any real evidence to support this claim or refute it. A good quality UV filter should not reduce the quality or quantity of light hitting the cameras sensor . However it should be acknowledged that lens are designed and coated to work optimally without the use of filters.Jun 1, 2021
UV filters for night photography are an absolute no no . You can almost be 100% assured that some ghosting, flaring or artifacts will be introduced into the image when shooting in low light. Don't use a UV filter at night, and just as importantly make sure you lenses are clean.
As the total number of pixels increases, the detail in the image or the field of view or both can be increased. For wide angle lenses, rectilinear lenses increase the image resolution at the edges of the image improving the possibility of detection and identification.
